Fasting and Self-Care: Is there a relation?

So recently, I watched a YouTube video sent to me by a friend on fasting explained by a Doctor. I was immediately intrigued. I have some things I need to heal within me, including anxiety and decided to explore further. I purchased the book and read the whole thing within days. After that started to implement this lifestyle. It came pretty easy to me because I was doing the keto diet for a while so it was no problem to go without food for 15 hours or even 18. I even went further and did a longer one. Now, I didn’t just jump into this. For longer fasts, you have to be under a care of a practitioner who knows your medical history and can monitor you.
This lifestyle is making me feel so good. I have so much energy. I have a stable blood sugar. My blood pressure is nearly perfect. My skin is clearing up from my eczema. I am so much happier. I actually get shit done around the house. It gave me the motivation I so desperately needed. Needless to say, I love this lifestyle and will continue until I heal whatever is going on within me that is preventing my hair growth. I truly recommend this lifestyle. You will not regret it.
So what does this have to do with self-care? Well, a lot! I am taking care of myself on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual realm. It’s a whole body care. That is what it looks like to me. It may not look like it to you and that is OK! Taking care of yourself in any way is amazing because you’re doing yourself a favor and showing that love to yourself. So whether that is meditating, going to a spa, going to a movie by yourself, exercising, reading a good book, or whatever it is, it’s a wonderful thing to do for yourself. You will notice that through doing this, you will be a much happier person that others want to be around. If you have kids, they will see it and suck it up. They are reflections of you and will likely feel your positivity and outlook on life. So keep at it friend. Keep taking care of yourself because you deserve it and others around you do too!
Much love, to you. Stay motivated and stay happy. Everything falls into place at exactly the perfect time. I promise.
The book about fasting if you are interested is called “Fast Like a Girl” by Dr. Mindy Pelz. She also has a ton of videos on YouTube with massive amounts of information backed by science on fasting. You also don’t need to be a woman to check this out. Men benefit from it too!
Hope all this helps! Have an amazing day and I’ll catch you on my next post!
