What is YOUR Truth?

I wanted to pop in here and talk about the only truth that I believe, wholeheartedly, is the only truth you as a mama need to embody.

What truth is that?

In simple terms: YOUR truth.  But if you’re looking for a more complex answer then here it is.  Your truth is different from mine.  It is different from your partner’s, from your friends’, from your kids, and essentially everyone else’s.  So, what is truth exactly? It’s not a right or wrong thing, but rather a different BELIEF on various aspects of life.  For example, Jessica believes that her kids’ bedtime should be 8 pm each night with maybe an exception on the weekends.  She believes that this practice gives her time for herself and/or her partner, benefits her kids’ health, and makes herself happy.  That is HER belief.  Now, Anna believes that being stringent on a bedtime isn’t that important.  She thinks that as long as kids go to bed at a reasonable hour still benefit. She also believes that time spent with her kids at night watching a tv show, reading, or any other quiet activity builds connection.  Now, neither of those beliefs are wrong.  They are just their truths about how the moms can best thrive emotionally.  Those practices are what make them happy.

So, you see? It’s actually pretty simple.  No one is wrong.  Many mamas raise their kiddos differently.  And that is OKAY! You don’t have to get down on yourself because you like your kids to go to bed at a specific time.  Don’t feel shame or guilt.  It’s being human mama.  Many of us have various things that keep us sane and functioning on the daily.

Stop beating yourself up and just know that YOUR truth is keeping you and your family happy.

I needed to share this with you today because I’ve seen some moms deal with this contrast recently.  And I just wanted to bring it to your attention.  It’s important for you to not let others’ lives dictate how you should live your own.  It’s your life, it’s your family, and that’s all that matters.

Have an amazing day and an even better week, month, and year!

xoxo
